ZEST has joined the Protein Pioneers Cluster, a collaborative initiative launched at the end of 2024 by several EU-funded projects with the shared ambition of transforming protein production through sustainable innovation.
The Protein Pioneers Cluster brings together complementary initiatives working across the alternative protein value chain to accelerate knowledge exchange, increase impact, and foster coordination in a highly specialized yet strategically important sector for the European bioeconomy. By joining forces, the cluster aims to unlock synergies among projects addressing technological development, resource efficiency, circularity, consumer acceptance, and market uptake of next-generation protein solutions.
As a new member of the cluster, ZEST reinforces its commitment to strengthening cooperation across European research and innovation ecosystems. In niche sectors such as alternative proteins, collaboration between aligned initiatives is essential to avoid fragmentation, maximize results, and scale sustainable solutions capable of supporting Europe’s transition toward resilient food systems.
