The session brought together representatives from several initiatives in the field.
ZEST recently participated in an online workshop organised within the framework of Protein Pioneers, a cluster of European projects working to advance innovation in alternative proteins.
The session brought together representatives from several initiatives in the field, including Like-A-Pro, InnoProtein, CIRCALGAE, ZEST, Sustainabite and Plantomyc. The workshop was designed as a space to share insights, learn from one another and identify areas of connection between the participating projects.
The discussion encouraged projects to identify common challenges, overlaps in their activities and potential follow-up actions. As a result, several ideas emerged for joint initiatives, shared events and thematic working groups that could help strengthen cooperation between the projects and increase the collective impact of their work.
ZEST contributed to the workshop through a presentation delivered by its partner Sinonin, focused on results generated within the project. The presentation highlighted findings from a Danish consumer study on fungal-based proteins, which is currently under review and is expected to be published soon for public consultation. This contribution provided valuable insights into consumer perceptions and acceptance of fungal-based protein solutions, a key aspect for the future development and market uptake of alternative protein products. The Danish partner FBCD also attended the workshop.
